CSRYE18 Session 1: "The Wonders of Rotary Youth Exchange"

With advice from a couple of other people, I decided to do a blog post on each session of the Rotary Youth Exchange Conference over this past weekend. After waking up at around 6am my dad, Noe (outbound student to Thailand), his mother Norma, Madeleine (inbound student from Belgium), and I drove up to Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We arrived right in time to get registered and all of our stuff into our dorm rooms before Lunch started. Following lunch, we had our first "session." A presentation by Pauline Perreault called "The Wonders of Rotary Youth Exchange."

About Pauline:

I found Paulines speech quite interesting, a big part of her presentation was introducing past Rotary Youth Exchange Students and how they have continued, even after their exchange, to work on providing service above self to communities, families, and individuals all over the world. The biggest take away I got from her speech however, was when she talked about "Making your dash." Meaning that we maybe exchange students from 2018-2019, but that does not matter. What matters is what all happens during the time in-between those years (aka: "-" the dash).
