We Outhere (airport blog)

Currently I am sitting by-myself somewhat near my gate at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, waiting for my flight at 4pm. Since it is 2:38pm and we start boarding at 3:30pm, I am not going to write a super long post about today until after I arrive in Germany. As of my thoughts and feelings right now, so close to take-off, I am excited, nervous, stressed, and tired. There have been so many emotions today and everything feels like a big dream. Everything so far has gone smoothly but I still feel a bit overwhelmed/stressed. Regardless, I know everything will be ok. Here are a few things I have taken into account so far today:

1. Almost everyone who I have seen that will be on my flight is German (not really a surprise but idk thought I would mention)

2. My whole flight is basically kids my age

3. I am REALLY surprised my family (especially my mom) didn't cry

4. You get some crazy looks while walking through the airport with your Rotary jacket (I have gotten wide eyes, laughs, kids in awe, people commenting on how many pins I have, etc)

5. I need to write my blogs in quiet places

I know this isn't a lot, but I am finding it quite hard to comprehend and review everything that is happening, while it is still happening. So this is more of an update "I made it to the airport and am boarding my plane soon" kind-of post! I am really excited and will update you guys when I arrive in Frankfurt! Auf Wiedersehen America!
