Berlin 2.0

Over our winter break here in Germany, one of my best friends, Ella, invited me to tag along with her and her family to an overnight trip to Berlin from the 27th to the 28th of December. Of course I said yes and was really excited to be going to Berlin again for the third time in my life. Everyone who came along was Ella's mom and dad, her sister Laura, their exchange student from South Africa Robyn, Ella, and of course myself.

We started driving around 11am and it takes about three hours to arrive in Berlin. After we arrived, we checked into our hotel which was located right next to the Berlin Hauptbahnhof Mitte.

After checking in we decided to leave the hotel and go sight seeing. Although it was already starting to get dark, on the first day we got to visit lots of places around Berlin. This included the Hauptbahnhof Mitte, Platz der Republik, Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie, and Reichstagsufer. We also ate dinner at a super delicious Australian restaurant called "Corroboree" in the Sony Center. That was also very nice because we were able to watch a dance performance that was going on throughout our dinner.

Day 1:

On the second day in Berlin we also did were able to do a lot of sight seeing. We went to the "Gesundbrunnen," which is a preserved area of the Berlin Wall. This was very interesting as we could see exactly how the Wall looked like during the war. After we also went into the museum connected to it. We continued walking around the city and eventually got tickets to a tour bus that took us around the city. For lunch we ate one of my favorite "German" foods, Curry Wurst.

After a long day we headed back to Freiberg and I stayed over at Ella house for a little bit to cook and get dinner with her family! It was an Amazing trip!
